Thinking about giving it a try....

I have an old 2D Maglight, that I would love to play with some mods.
I was wondering, is there an easy (reas--Drop in) kit for these with strong, bright LEDs? Do you think one eventually will be avalable with a Cree?

What is involved in the mod? Can I still run it on regular D's?
I would love this to be a brutally bright light. ANy suggestions?

It crossed my mind as regards the cree drop-in. That would be worth buying. Flashlight reviews has a new K2 drop-in pending review and I had thought about getting that to replace my Diamond III, but maybe I'll hold off and wait to see if a cree one is produced.
