Looking over the posts here on the Cree XR-E, I was wondering if one of these would fit in a Civictor? If the reflector in the Civictor would present a problem, would it work w/o the reflector, and if so, what kind of beam should I expect to get? I've been holding off ordering a Civictor for some time now as I have a two stage tailcap resistored L1P using a L2P head that I like a lot. I rarely use the low beam due to when I need a flashlight, I almost always desire a brighter beam. If the Cree XR-E would work, I think it would be worthwhile to do the mod. I like the twisty head on/off over a tailcap clickie.

What do you think?

the XR-E emitter isn't much bigger really, i havent see the insides of a civictor. best case is it will fit without a problem, worse case is the driver board will protrude 1 or 2mm out the back cos of the squarish base of the XR-E. Even then there's a was around this if u can grind down the square base to a circular one.
