You could just put the 2xrcr123a and tl3 bulb into a tl2 instead of messing with bi-pin adapters.

Check on the Streamlight website under products. It looks like the TL-3 but it's a six volt body/bulb.

Or you could even check on Flashlightreviews.com

Additionally, do you have a pic of this compared to the regular E2D.

I want to get some beamshots of this setup, I can see now though, the e2d reflector is
a limiting factor. Auroralites Mag hotwire mod has a much nicer beam and throw. I am switching back to 17670 and Strion bulb for now. What I really want is the E2d formm with M6 Power!

The E2D has an orange peel reflector I would think that would look nicer than the AuroraLite.

wow

i think it's an easy guessing say that in the second and the third mod batteries lasts a lot less, isn't it?

and another quest: if the streemlight is a LED flashlight, how can u adapt it to an incandescent one?

great pic, syracuse(btw: do u know if the name of your city has something to do with the italian syracuse?).

That is a deviously simple plan.... I may have to investigate this further. Or I guess one could run a Strion bulb and a 17670??

The strion bulb is said to run for 45 min off of a 17670.

Yes in the TL2 or the Scorpion if you want a clicky.

nuggett What cells are you using?

I take it you are using 2xrcr123 unprotected.

It would be nice to run this mod on protected cells, but I'm guessing it may need a double tap to start it. I think the current draw on the TL3 lamp is around 1.25, so I'm guessing around the 30 minute mark on rechargable cells.

I have been planning to do this for a good while now, I have the lamp holder, but lighthound is out of Tl3 lamps. I was hoping the new batterystation protected rechargable cells may have protection cuircuits that can handle this without the need to double tap.

I will wait and see when lighthound gets the Tl3 lamps back in

How is the beam, you say "Auroralites Mag hotwire mod has a much nicer beam", is there a problem focusing this lamp in the stiron mod base? I had hoped it would be wide and floddy rather than a thrower, as I'd prefer a nice wide spill / wide hot spot in an E2D for close up work.

This would be a good mod for you. the beam is wide and floody, just a bit irregular. I guess it is because of the bi pin mounting. Running on Lighthounds unprotected cells. I dont think AW or battstation have rcr123 cells with the elevated protection ct.

Ok, so I got the TL-2, the Strion bulb, the protected 17670s and NADA. There is just that faintest hint of a glow for a second and then nothing. I switch to a protected RCR123 and a spacer and it lights right up, but somewhat yellow. Should I be running an unprotected 17670, a better brand (these are blue and bought from Lighthound a couple months back) or???

The TL2 needs 2x rcr123 (about 8 volts) and the strion takes 1x 17670 (about 4 volts)

Do you only have one battery to try in it? Does it seem to take a charge okay?

A protected 17670 should do the trick.

I thought the idea was to put a TL-3 bulb into a TL-2 with two 3.7 rcr123 bats.
