Watching CSI NY on TV tonight, it appeared that they were using an ultraviolet X5 to search for evidence at a crime scene. Actually since I've never used the ultraviolet version of the X5 I wondered if they weren't using the standard version of the X5 so it would show up on the TV camera. Anyway this seemed to be a level of detail accuracy that I wouldn't expect from the normal TV shows, especially considering how inaccurate the CSI shows can be sometimes.

The UV X5 (if it uses the same LEDs as the UV X1) has a pretty purplish beam, so it just might have been the real thing... Even if CSI isn't always accurate, it's still fun to watch. High-tech Holmes indeed.

Another time, another place.
The beam seemed much too bright to be the real thing. With the UV X5 I had, the light appeared quite dim. They were probably using a blue LED version.
