Hello People,

I did some research awhile back on these forums and ended up buying a SF E2L (Thanks for the help). I should've done some research on this damn T.I.C. (Tactical Impact Bezel). It makes the light less comfortable to carry around, I just thought it looked cool. Anyway, Can someone give me some suggestions on how to take this damn thing off? Here's the link:

Thanks for the help!

The first link shows what looks like a hex head screw securing the TIC to the L2 head. I'd give Tadgear a call to confirm what size hex key you'll need to loosen the screw.

There should be a hex key that came with it. I agree that it is uncomfortable. ANy annoying!! I had one on my late fenix and it made the beam look like a dang HIPPY FLOWER!!

Thanks for the quick reply. I've already emailed Tadgear and am waiting for a response from them. I figured if anyone would have an answer, it would either be those guys or yous guys. The TIC came with a hex key, however the screws lost their shape once I tightened them in. I would've tried to make them tighter if they didn't lose their shape so easily.

Were you able to remove yours with the hex key?

yes, uhh..that's how I got it on in the first place...just be careful you don't strip the threads, otherwise it's dead.

I guess you didn't read my response to Makona2. The screwws were stripped as I tightened them on in the first place.

If you don't mind messing up the bezel (but saving the flashlight) try making a notch in the top of the screw with a "cutoff wheel" on a tool like a Dremel. Once you have made the notch, you should be able to use a flat screw driver to back the screw out. I am guessing that you have stripped the hex shape and not the threads.

If you drill, you will need to be very precise as to not drill into the head of the flashlight. Again you could use a Dremel with a drill bit mounted on the drill press accessory. I would try the notch plan first.

You can also try left handed drill bits. That may just back the screws right out. If you put new
screws into aluminum use antiseize compound and I'd run a tap through
there to make sure the thread's are alright.
