Offer twist or Kroll with new circuit, LED & reflector or optic and KEEP THE BODY! Why discard a near perfect design? Form followed function and the original LS was (IMHO) beautiful.

Having HDS and other manufacturers getting into the small, multi-level act, can Arc really compete with an expensive, possibly complicated, product? You made the first, Peter, and it's still got possibilities with internal improvements.

jayflash, this is how the new LS started out.

With any good project, you need clear goals before you start. The goals for the new LS were/are:

1. increase durability
2. improve switch
3. keep the same size if possible
4. brighter (use active thermal management to make as bright as poss)
5. R-123 compatibility
6. since the light is brighter, divide it into at least 2 brightness levels
7. more user servicable/moddable
8. smoother beam than LSH
9. increase converter efficiency
