Euro size ~50.

What sort of choice do I have?

Check out the USA's Galls site, they have some cool-looking "Tactical" footwear.
A lot of our UK LEO's shop at Silverman's in the East End of London - they have a website too. I've seen some good stuff there.

Or, try that camping/outdoors shop on London's Charing Cross Road, WC2, the one just opposite Foyles. Besides a selection of LED's, they have some really cheap but funky workboot styles.
There's an old style steel Miners boot which is a working-class fashion classic.
(You'll have to slum it a bit Al !!)
