Problems with my Surefire L2...!!

My L2 has developed a problem.

Since the last change of batteries, the brightness has seriously reduced.

There is now very little difference between the low and high levels.

I've tried several different batteries and the problem is the same.

I've emailed Surefire.com this morning, so awaiting a reply.

Any suggestions/experience ?

RMA job?

As an L2 owner in the UK I'd be interested in hearing what sort of response you get from Surefire?

How long have you had it? Do you use CR123A or P14670 batteries?

Assuming (dangerous I realise) you were only using SF123A batteries and you can be without doubt certain that the replacement batteries you have tried are fresh (perhaps get a pair of Duracells from Waitrose just to be sure)...
Is the bezel on tight?
Is the end of the body at the TailCap end, the contact surface, clean?
Does the two-stage TailCap have all three contact tabs?

It sounds like its flat battery/batteries since that's what happens - the high is the same as the low.

If it's none of the above I think perhaps you need to arrange to send it back to SureFire unless anybody else has a suggestion?

It's either dead batteries of some sort of obstruction on the contacts.

I'm guessing it's the batteries.

Kumar: I've had no problems with my battery station CR123s...

Problem sorted.

You guys were right..it was the batteries. I'd got a dodgy pack. All 12 of them weren't up to scratch.

I've tried a different brand and cleaned the threads...and the L2 is back in perfect condition....

Phew..that was a scare..!

I was running them on an older L2 I would try the light with the battery stations and the problems would persist, but when I put in SF123's it would be like nothing happened.maybe it was just my particualr light?
