Boy it's really cool the way a stripped M@G shines up. Here's a couple pictures of the same body with 2 different heads and bezels. This may be for sale in the near future. I bored out the body to accept any AA cells.

Re: Oooh Shiny M@G

Thought I'd add one more to the family. It's a 2.5 C with 1/16" fins and grooves. This one's for 2 18650's and most likely a tri-lux or quad-lux. Heck maybe I'll go Cree :naughty:.

These look really nice! May I ask what your method of stripping was - chemical, abrasive or a combination?

Thanks
Chris

I use good old Greased Lightning to strip then put it back in the lathe and polish with varying grits of scotch brite pads.

Thanks! I had no idea that Greased Lightning could strip anodize from the Mags.

I believe it has a weak concentration of Lye which is what attacks the anodize. You could make your own lye solution and achieve the same thing.

That being said both these lights will end up being re-anodized. The bare aluminum is far too soft to stand up to any daily use IMHO.
