Got a Harbor Freight flyer in the mail today. My wife was feeding our 2 1/2 year old son as I was thumbing through it. We come across HF's 3D and 2AA lights on one of the pages:

"Wow," he says, "look at those cool flashlights!"

My wife just looks at me and says, "he's just like you."

So far he's got an old Minimag 2AA and my old Fulton Military Angle head.

Well, at least she didn't say "you're just like him" ;)

Sorry to divert your thread. I am happy your son has taken a shine to lights. I have 3 myself, all with color coded NiteIze Minimags. I was just thrilled that there is someone else (apparently more than one) in Gainesville that shares my addiction.

I wonder what will be the cutting edge when he is older? Will LED's still be the catch word?

Because semiconductors are such a ubiquitous part of our lives, solid state lighting is where it's at for the next several years. Beyond that who knows.

Yep, I was at my in-laws the other night watching the SC/Arkansas game. Everyone's rooting for SC 'cept me.
"Why not? He's the old ball coach"
"Arkansas' a better team"

Course they'll be rooting against him Saturday. Me, I like consistency.

Last weekend, my great-niece needed a flashlight to use.

Brought her over to my house, and showed her my PURPLE Fenix E01.

She LOVED it ! ! !

Then, i showed her how to turn it on.

Shining it at a white wall, i explained:

" Look -- even the light it MAKES is kinda' Purple ! "

And she REALLY loved THAT ! ! !

" So Cool ! ! ! ", she proclaimed.

Of course -- she is only 3 years old.
