Hi - I have been trying to find an outstanding EDC and it's not that easy!

These would be my personal criteria:

1) Rechargeable single-cell operation - RCR2 or RCR123 or 18650
2) At least two levels including a "gentle" low - with no flickering - prefer three levels - but don't need "strobe" or "SOS" at all
3) Good brightness and regulation on "high" - nice white tint
4) Must stand on end
5) Prefer sapphire lens, can accept mineral glass
6) Prefer a glow-in-the-dark feature, somewhere
7) Must be available - not Sold Out Everywhere

I'm flexible on switch operation and other details.

Suggestions?

HDS EDC U60 with SS bezel & tritium locators...replace stock UCL with sapphire lens and Bob's your uncle. They turn up on BST on a weekly basis.

Or wait until January and get a U85.

Your requirements are a bit different from mine. For me the Fenix L0PSE comes pretty darn close. Better regulation would be nice. Mainly I like its multi levels, cheap battery, reasonable price, and the ability to disappear in a pocket.

my dream edc will be

1) a LED that is rated at 0.5W and can produce 200lumen/watt and very small package too!(like a 3mm led size)
2) titanium body
3) driver to drive led at 0.1w,0.3w/0.4w,0.5w
4) use a small, rechargeable battery that can provide at least 3hrs/2hrs runtime on 0.5 watts
5) water proof rating of at least 100m
6) more throwy then floody
7) no larger then an AA battery with 5/6 of it's height
8) hole at the of light for chain to use as necklace/lanyard.

of course, it will take a long long time before that happens...
and a long long time after now, technology may make it a reality!!!

I agree with Geoff...sums it up for me. 123`s are a bit big for me...don`t really like carring a light on my belt. Around my neck or in my pocket is the ticket...for me. 1 aaa batt powered fits well.

I like the jetbeam I have... i have the original, the mk-II adds brightness levels.

1) Battery - A different size than suggested, but is single cell + 14500's are awesome.. the "soon" to be released 123 body may be interesting for an option too.
2) Levels - not sure if "no flickering at all" is covered here, but your prefered 3 levels are covered
3) Good brightness and regulation on "high" - nice white tint - Yep
4) Must stand on end - yep
5) Prefer sapphire lens, can accept mineral glass - yep
6) Prefer a glow-in-the-dark feature, somewhere - yep GID tailcap + slots for trits
7) Must be available - not Sold Out Everywhere - you shouldn't have trouble finding one of these in black or nat ha3

The PD works for me. I had a TW4 for awhile but runtime was an issue.

I may EDC my A19... not sure yet :)

My EDC is sitting in my pocket while in an office building..not very much use over here LOL
