Pretty soon you'll be selling lights before you receive them!

One of the wonderful things about these LavaLights is that each one of the handful in existence is UNIQUE - some are more black than orange, some the other way around... but because the 'splash' process involves a lot of manual manipulation, no two lights are alike.

You've got a great light for a great price, Skalo. I've got one - and love it. I might very well be tempted to get another one (as I suspect would others), but I'd sure like to see the actual light before taking the plunge - even at that crazy low price! Is that a possibility?

Cheers,

Skalomax requested the darkest one I had. Below are two pics of the light. It has a TW0J star, not a TY0J star.

These Lava Lamps are splash anodized HyperluxIII rev.2 lights. They are limited and won't be made again. Of course there is no accounting for taste, but looks aside when you compare these to the SFIIIs that were selling for $300-$400 it makes one take pause. These lights have 18650 capacity and not just 2xCr123. The body and head are one piece and the light uses an aluminum McR-27 reflector rather than the aluminum surface on a delrin cone as in most Superflashlights, or even optics for that matter. There is a very large heat sink that is threaded into the head for superior cooling and for upgrades later, including cree stars etc. Even with more battery capacity the light is smaller than a Superflashlight, with an anti-roll bezel. I'm not knocking the Superflashlights and neither has CPF as evidenced by the prices they command, however the anodizing on these Lava Lamps alone costs $35 more per light than HA would have and these are machined by TnC just as the superflashlights were.

In this thread on CPF there is some more info and a picture of the heat sink.

If I didn't plan on spending some $500+ today I probably would buy this right now. Looks like a really stunning light. Hope it sells quickly or I might misplace $180. :)
