red led?

i was looking at a post for a surefire l1 with a red led for sale, and i wanted to know what i would be getting in to by getting one? does that mean that the bulb is red and does affect it use? is it easy to replace the bulb if not happy?

LEDs last for a very long time and are somewhat a permanent installation. They are not easy to change like a bulb, and would require light disassembly and soldering, etc.

Red is nice because it allows you to maintain your night-vision, but we'd need more info to say much more.
