Surefire G2 w/ G&P Luxeon III LED Drop-in?

I'm very new to the forum. I've been doing a lot of reading here and am preparing to make my first couple of buys. Money is a big factor. For a keychain type light I'm thinking Fenix P1 or L0P-SE. Additionally, I'm thinking of buying a Surefire G2 but would like to have the option of LED. What is the difference in lighting from the retail Surefire G2 compared with a G2 with a G&P Luxeon III LED Drop-in Mod? How does the Surefire compare with the Fenix P1? My impression is that the G2 will have a lot more throw and be more of a spot with the incandescent lamp but I don't know how the LED mod would change things...

I recently replaced the p60 from my G2 with the G&P Lux III, its much whiter, has almost the same output, but less throw, plus 2 hours run-time. The p60 will stay in the drawer forever. I also have a P1 and the G&P is definitely brighter. You'll like it, trust me.

From the pictures on the upper link I'll say that the GP LED module has great throw - the central spot looks tight.
