That's cool, windstrings! I love glowing stuff. Here's an idea for you: if you were to coat the surface behind the optic (around the LED's), you'd be able to see the glow through the optic, and you wouldn't have to cut down on emitted light from painting on top of the optic. The effect looks like this:

Nice... I tried, but I couldn't figure out how to get that invasive.
I also tried on my P1.. its soldiered in.. couldn't get to that either!
I was toying with the idea of doing my Inova T4.. but that guy is really locked down!
