I have undercounter halogen lights and those little buggers get really hot and the transformers don't seem to last over a couple of years. Is there a LED replacement for these (G4 base) that doesn't use an array of small LED's and just uses like a Luxeon or something of that family? I'm looking to run them with less heat and power consumption.

I don't know about that BUT Lowes sells a "LED Accent Lighting" item #240230 from Portfolio. It's $16 or so I just bought it to play with. I want to review it soon but kinda of busy this time of year.
