RCatR - this is exactly the mod I was thinking of, b/c of the Cree's wide beam, and the Dorcy's spot optic. Was it difficult to mod in? How does output compare to say the L1P?

I'm interested. Post some beamshots against a stock Dorcy and maybe against a Fenix or something. I'll send paypal if the results are as good as I am expecting.

I don't have any stock lights to compare this to except a 6d mag, which would make this thing look very weak :laughing:

What board is the cree mouynted on? Did you have any problems fitting it in there?

Your offer to sell does not state the form of acceptance you will take, so:

1 - I'll take it (assuming an unconditional "I'll take it" works)

or

2 - will wait in line behind Brother Adirondack (if his conditional statement of "interested" works).

powernoodle-You raise a very valid point, I intended for the first "I'll take it" to get the light; so it is yours


adirondackdestroyer-I have another cree and can easily get another dorcy to mod if you are still interested, beamshots will be up tonight once it's dark out


mcmc-It was a relatively straightfoward mod, the solder connections and centering the led were a real challenge. I focused the cree slightly under its farthest throw. Why? Because at its farthest throw it projects a yellowish image of the die which has gaps as didn't seem very useful

It is being compared to a Minimag with a SMJ 4-die LED in it, it was the only small standard light I had
