What we normally refer to as a "10280" is a rechargeable 3.6V Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) single-cell battery. The 10280 battery is the diameter of an AAA battery but the length of an N battery. It is an 'unprotected' Li-Ion battery, which means that it does not have a circuit board to protect the cell against over-charge, over-discharge, or excessive current, so the user should be familiar with how to properly use Li-Ion cells. Small unprotected Li-Ion batteries like the 10280 have limitations on maximum charging current and maximum discharge current, as well as maximum discharge voltage, that you should be aware of before attempting to use one.

Some info about the 10280 Li-Ion battery (or cell, if you prefer to call it that) can be found in this thread: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/122632

The 10280 Li-Ion battery is available from CPF member AW: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/140362
