Hey Guys,

A few weeks ago, I spoke with 4sevens about a possible Cree mod for my 27LT. The Mod was a SUCCESS and after testing by Chevrofreak, here are the output numbers:

McGizmo 27LT XR-E low 236 (estimated 16.86 lumens)
McGizmo 27LT XR-E high 1731 (estimated 123.64 lumens)

Here are a few picks.
Beam shots consisted of my HDS U60XRGT on HIGH vs 27LT Cree on HIGH.
*Both at 9 feet away*

Sorry about the quality, pics taken at work with the lights on.

The Cree mod gives the 27LT AWESOME Throw, tight spot with great sidespill.

David/4sevens is an excellent guy to deal with, great email responses, AMAZING work.:naughty:

My 27LT is a 2 cell light. I don't think it was ever made in a 1 cell model.

That 27LT looks downright sexy... I had always thought the 27LT came in a 2-cell configuration? Is this the reason the 1-cell in your reference "only" put out 123 lumens on high? I read that McGizmo's prototype 2-cell Cree 27LT put out close to 180 or so in one of his threads.

Are those output numbers with 2 CR123 primaries or a 17670? That is a very nice finished product. Hmmmm!

It was with 2 CR123's.

I personally have been using AW's RCR123's from lighthound
for some time now without any problems. It should be a little
more brighter with the rechargeables ;)

I am very happy with this mod, I haven't put down the 27LT
as of yet...lol

McGizmo has a 27LT cree prototype? Any word on production?
I thought in his lights for sale thread he mentioned that there wouldn't be anymore different variations of the 27LT.
