Would like to consider the following criteria.
1.Around $100.00 USD
2.Comfortable to wear
3.LED..ONLY
4.Use rechargeables only.. protected 123 or 18650 or other rechargeables considered.
5.Want more light output that discount store brands.
6.No belt battery pack must be self contained.
7.Not looking to light up the woods but enough light that my FT01 is not in constant use.
8.Multiple settings would be nice.
9.Run time of 2 to 4 hours.
10.A blue or green tint is ok so as not to spook game, I hog hunt at night.

I appreciate any & all input.

Here's the 1W/3W I ordered.

http://contents.fifthunit.com/html/products.5th/sku.997.html

1. Less than $20 shipped.
2. Looks like it might be
3. Check
4. With money left over, buy a charger, AAA batteries, and holders
5. I haven't seen 3W in discount stores.
6. Check
7. I haven't seen anything brighter than 3W yet.
8. Two settings.
9. Should be right on target: 2 hours for 3W, 4+ hours for 1 W

Either the Princeton Tec Eos or the Petzl Tikka XP should fit the bill. Both are 1 watt headlamps. Eos is regulated, Tikka XP is not. XP has a diffuser, Eos does not. Both have pretty good throws. Eos can be had for $35 max. Petzl runs about the same. They can be easily found on Ebay, where you can get some pretty good deals. Both use AAA batteries. I have both of them and the EOS is my favorite, hands down. Flashlight reviews has a review of both of these and both are highly rated.

On the asphalt.
This should be switched to the headlamp forum - there are experts there that can really tell you what you'll want to get. I agree with what whippoorwill said about the EOS or the Tikka XP.

Thanks for the advice.
Anyone know to move this to the headlamp forum?
