Anssi 0.5W Nichia torch at FU

Does any here have the Anssi torch from fifthunit.com?

Firstly, the site says that it runs on AA but runtime says tested with AAA?

Secondly, how does the internals of the head look like? Can it be easily removed?

I have one. Works well. AA, NOT aaa. Head does NOT appear to be eaqsily removeable.

The head can be separated from the battery holder section, but I don't think I would attempt trying to disassemble it any further, unless you don't care if it gets damaged in the process.

How do these compare in brightness and throw to a Mag 2AA?

I bought the same light from Dae a while back (2 pieces).
It is an AA opeated light.

I'm not to fond of them. Quality is way lower then the Ultrafire AA lights.
On mine the heads did unscrew, no locktite or anything, but it was poor machining that prevented easy disassembly. I gave one away and put a red luxeon in the other.

I posted pics from my disassembly on the forums somewhere, but the search isn't working for me right now. Probably a search for 'MX Power' would bring it up.

from that shot it seems like the anssi has same intensity but with a small hotspot, tho cant tell for sure due to the fac that its overexsposed.

how are they at firther distance? is the anssi really throwing as well as a L2P on sing AA?

The Anssi is about half the brightness of the L2P(1AA). Quality is below the Ultrafire. Better off getting the 602A1.
