 My flashlight I bought from Taiwan burned out. :awman:
The LED Bulb needs to be replaced. I hate 3.7v RCR123... They blew out my bulb!
Where can I get a replacement. Or does anyone have any? It's "17w"... :huh2:
If anyone can point me to a ebay seller or someone on these fourms it would be greatly appreciated.

How many batteries does the light take?

If you can solder;
Desolder the emitter's leads and lift them up with the tip of a soldering iron.
Then use a small knife to "pop" the dead emitter off.
Clean the star where the emitter was as best as you can.

Install a higher voltage/higher current UWON binned K2 emitter from photonfanatic in the dealers corner.
Install with a little bit of computer thermal grease this time under the emitter.
It has to sit all the way down in the star to keep it from overheating.
Solder it's leads as best you can to the star after you find out which ones are (-), and (+) with a cr123 and a piece of wire.

Enjoy. :)

Looks like you can just buy a Luxeon Star and replace it. I doubt the resistor popped, but I guess its possible. I'm guessing you ran 2 3.7V rechargables and put an extra 2 volts or so over what it was expecting. Probably a Luxeon with a Vf of K or so would work as a good replacement, if you want to run it on 3v primaries. (Thats just a guess, if you remove the existing star you can see exactly what bin the old one is to match it). If you want to continue running rechargables, get a higher bin, as suggested above.

first unscrew the two set screws and flip the luxeon star over...

the resistor probably hasnt popped. check the bin number of the star then we can determine what emitter your going to need in terms of Vin compatibility.

If not, then just swap the emitter and change a resistor

17 watt?
Im from taiwan, but i didnt know they're also hyping numbers:ohgeez:

Intresting. Where can I get these K2 bulbs or replacement resistor. Is there a special way of sodering? I am not that good with the whole soder thing. I have thermal grease from my computer. Artic Silver stuff.
Yeah my RCR puts out 4.2v after full charge... Werid huh?

Darn. I am so mad. I bought a Fenix P1. Now a P1 D CE comes out.. What the hell. My P1 has not even arrived yet either!

Did you test the LED with a direct drive connection with 2 cr123 3.0v batteries?

If not test the LED first then jump to conclusions later.
Where did you buy it from?

I have a similar light that came with a TYOK star. It works best on a 17670... 2 3.7v R123's as (suggested by fifthunit) are far too much voltage for it too handle properly
