I'm a bit confused about how to use the machined marks for the LOTC of my 6P. It seems that if you align them, the light will not necessarily be in lock-out mode. In fact, it looks like the usefulness of the machined marks is dependent on their position relative to one another when the tailcap is first screwed on. What am I missing?

rotate it out one more turn?
Ignore them. They really don't correspond to the EXACT point at which your light locks out. Just push the button and turn the cap until the light goes out.
