All I see are 3AA or so LED lights for Christmas. Since they don't need to be carried, D makes much more sense.

Who sells D cell Christmas LED lights?

Yes and no. If you are using NiMh I have found that D cells start around $5 or so. Now AA are the main stay and cheaper soooo if one could add more AA cells to the battery pack to increase the running time, make the pack easy to plug in and out of the light for charging and make it so each cell can get charged on it own it would be a good mod.

The next problem is temp. If it gets too low or high the batteries won't like to be outside.

Sorry I am still waiting for the price to go down and my other x-mass light to burn out.

OK just spend the $$$ and buy D cells and holders for them :)

Good luck!
