Hey everyone, Nice to be back.
I thought I would attempt to post a few beamshots. Please show me mercy as this is my first time and I am not nearly as computer savy as many. My buddy and I were using a inexpensive Fuji digital camera with a almost total lack of manual controls. One of my hobbies is photography, (I am still saving for a full frame canon slr) but used what was availible.
Based on the lense, the shots should be around f/4. Exposure was at maximum (around 3 seconds) for all shots except possibly the light cannon hid was producing enough light to cut exposure to 2 seconds. Again, I wish I could have controlled it more, but what do you do. The only light that should have been hurt was the lc100. I am posting the link for each picture...Hope this works.

The target was in the woods around 35 yards from the camera. The flashlighs were held 4 feet to the right of the tripod.

First, daylight:

Second, Inova XO reflector version:

Third, Streamlight Scorpion:

Fourth, Surefire G2z, P61

Fifth, Streamlight tl3, stock bulb, AW 17500's

Sixth, UC light cannon 100 10w hid:

I hope these work and you liked them. The tl3 has great throw, and the p61 lit up more surrounding area but was just as bright as the tl3. The lc100 got jipped by the camera but has as good of throw as the tl3 but lights up a huge surrounding area. All lights looked brighter to the nakid eye than the camera made them apear. I need to say thanks to my buddy John for helping and posting the pics to his site.

Hey woodrow

I think you did a great job for a first time beamshot post. I still haven't done any myself.

The 10W HID was less impressive than I thought!

Thanks for the kind words...I look forward to getting a camera with some manual controls like my film slr. That is part of the reason the lc100 looked dimmer. It got (to my ear) 1 second less exposure time than the others since the light reflected back to the camera from the trees next to us.

Again, I am biased because I am a fan of lights with great sidespill. The lc100 is not any more painful to look directly at than the tl3 or p61, but it puts out arount 3 times as much total light...+ it has over 2hours of runtime at 80% or above with its battery pack. That being said, its older technology. The newer 10-24 watt lights kick its butt for simalar money...my point is that it just got jipped by the camera...at least to how my buddy and I remember everything looking.
