9W Luxeon? Whoa! But is it for real?

Wandered on this while looking for rechargeable CR123s.

Do you think it's really a 9W flashlight, or is the guy selling it on drugs?

The price sure makes it suspicious...

Those lights "use" 9 watts, they do not emit it.

It's even worse than that: The entire flashlight MIGHT consume 9 watts, under perfect conditions. The LED itself is only consuming part of that power - the rest is heating up the series dropping resistor, battery contacts, switch, wiring, chemicals inside the batteries, etc.

And, of the power actually being consumed by the LED, only a small fraction of that is actually converted to light. The rest is helping to turn the flashlight case into a nifty hand-warmer... :D
