I knew this at one time, but old age is kicking in and I can't remember. Will a RCR123A fit in a SF L1, and is it safe to run an L1 on it?

Thanks.

I have been unable to get a RCR123 to fit into my L1, the standard CR123 size cells slide in with almost no space between them and the tube.

I run my Milkyspit L1 exclusively on protected RCR123s now. Nice and bright, decent runtime, and basically free after the initial purchases.

I have an "old-style" L1 and it fits the RCR123s that came with my GatLight perfectly. It's slightly brighter for a little while, but it works just fine.

Hmmm, I've been interested in this as well, I just bought 2 of the BatteryStation 3.6v 900mah RCR123s..

Well, now I am a bit confused. Is it that the "old style" L1 will take an RCR123A, but the "new style" won't? Or, does it depend on whether the cell is protected or not? Or, does it just depend on the particular brand of RCR123A?

Thanks for the reference, whippoorwill. John @ lighthound says the L1 and RCR123As are a no-go. Such a pity. I used to have an E2L/E1L that thrived on them.
