ONE "thick" copper, or
multiple small copper strings (with together same diameter than the single one)

I use 24AWG silver-coated, stranded, teflon wire. I find that stranded is easier to work with (bend, etc.); it's also easier to cut the individual strands if you're not careful... :green:

The only solid core wire I have is 30AWG.

How the Heck do you guys strip the ends on the Teflon coated wire?

Its a fight every time...
Must be a trick to it ..

Carefully. How else?

:lolsign:

I use a sharp razor to do it. I gently press onto the wire's jacket with the razor, until I feel it "pop". Then I lift the razor, rotate the wire a bit, and repeat the process. Don't try forward-back movements with the razor, just push down gently.

With a little bit of practice you won't even break any of the finer strands. I've stripped down to 30AWG teflon wire like that without a problem.

There are some wire strippers where the teflon jacket will slip and won't strip properly, BTW.

I have one of those Slippery Strippers :D
No workie...
So i use the wire cutter but most of the time i end up with a bad result.

I guess I`ll have to take out the ol razor and give it a go :)

Benny, the way GreenLED says to strip the teflon wire works great. After he shared that tip with me, I quit looking for a pair of wire strippers.:)

Thanks again greenLED!

A sharp pair of stripper will work great also.
I normally use an Ideal T-Stripper for the most cases.
When it comes to making it "just right" I use a V-Notch Stripper. It take a little practice to controll the gap but once you do, you can strip to any gauge size you want.
