the setup in the pic , 3.6v 880mah cells and 3.0v 800mah will only run
my P1 for 28min / 40min respectively.

what is wrong ?

As soon as I get my P-1 back (dropped and stopped working) I will try it with RCR123A'S. Just got some of these batts from lighthound. I am interested in how much brighter it will be.

vtt - I think the 3.6V cells are driving the P1 with a LOT more current than the 3.0v cells - if they are really holding at 3.6V under load, the P1 regulator is Not regulating and the LED is running "direct drive". The 3.6v cell should be noticeably brighter than the 3.0V cells

I have got to admit 28 mins with a 880ma 3.6V rcr does not sound quite long enough. I would have thought you would have got at least another 15 mins or so?

I had the same problem with my batterystation 3.6 RCR's. I think friends, this has to do with the light shutting off with too much heat. Notice the good runtimes other fellows have been getting involve 3.0 V RCR's.
