LEDs Magazine posted a press release of a new LED to be offered by Edison Opto. They claim 250 lumens @ 1 A and 100 lumens/watt at 360 mA. This LED, like the Seoul Semi P4, uses the new Cree die.

My opinion is that having some healthy competition in this market is a good thing for us as consumers. It is too bad that Cree seems to have a monopoly on high performing dice for the moment.
