making the Peak throw (beamshots)

i know this is not a new concept, but while playing around with my lens collection, i found that one of the best throwing lenses for 5mm leds is actually a very old magnifying glass (because of its long focal lenght of about 200mm)
only my really huge lenses, a 25cm diameter theater spotlight lens and an even larger overhead projector fresnel lens produce tighter beams, but none of my asphericals

because of the overcast sky and resulting heavy backlight from the city, the pictures aren't too impressive, but i hope you get the idea

i was surprised how clear the beam can be projected onto the clouds

It projects almost as good as the bat signal did in Batman.
Very cool how the 3 leds have thier own spots well defined.
