Will the Q3 reflector fit in an ARC LS with minor or no modding?

The Q3 reflector is a fair bit longer than the stock optic (or IMS17). It will require a fair bit of trimming. The OD will have to be taken down a bit as well.

I would put this one outside the criteria you listed.

I guess it depends what you have inside the LS (stock?) on how much you have to reduce it. A Q3 reflector is about 16mm (0.63") long.

If you switch to a Cree emitter, you will save some length and you will have to open the hole in the reflector.

The saving grace with the Arc LS design is that there's some flexibility in how deep the reflector can be... the entire circuit/emitter board is "floating" on a threaded ring inside the light and can be move forward or backward a bit with no trouble at all. Because of this, I would guess the Q3 reflector ought to fit nicely by the time it's opened up for use with the Cree emitter.

The reflector would still need some material removed from the outside, though, to get it narrow enough to fit into the Arc LS head... but there's lots of meat on them bones, so no worries. ;)
