i don't think so...

a luxeon V on your head will be too dang HOT,literally.

unless you under drive it...

but under driving it means why in hell did you bother to use a luxeon V?

The Penetartor, Welcome, and here is link to the only one I am aware of. http://brunton.com/product.php?id=431
A bit expensive, but good quality. I had a Silva L3 (same light different branding), and the beam was fantastic. The only problems were I did not like the dual headband battery packs (not applicable on the 5W), and the headstrap was a bit tight.

too bad there isn't a EOS style LuxV... running a luxV @ 350ma doesn't produce much heat but it a LOT brighter than a Lux1/3

Silva/Brunton have a LuxV headlamp with a rechargable battery pack. A media report on outdoorsmagic.com suggests that Silva have fixed several problems noted with the L1(lux3) such as the button, too tight a headband, and have added a clipon diffuser.

I have a L1(lux1) but same form factor, and have found it very good, comfortable, good balance of brightness and runtimes, the external heatsink is a nice touch.

However, how long will this remain the brightest headlamp if the Cree 7090 XR-E makes it into headlamps?
