in my opinion get a surefire m3t you have an m3t then add an extender and you have 230 lumens for an hour or 350 lumens for 20 minuts or if you can afford it get a surefire m6 it is supper bright and a lot smaller than a d cell mag.

hope this helps, David Miller

An M6 will have more output with the high output bulb than an ultra stringer, but probably won't throw as well, so I think that's out if you want throw.

If you want that kind of output from a 4D sized flashlight, it sounds like you might be looking at some Magmods.

One thing I would suggest you look at before doing Magmods is some of the more reasonably priced HID lights out there, like the one that Amondotech sells.

Slow, welcome to CPF!

The M6 doesn't have a super long runtime either (actually, very few high powered incans have long runtime) How long of a runtime do you need, by the way?. How about something like an M3 with a turbo head?

welcome Slowrider.

You might want to take a look at Elektrolumens' offerings in the Manufacturer section.

I'd suggest an HID light or else a modded maglite like Mag85 or USL. I'm not sure if you meant you wanted a light that is not rechargeable or if it doesn't matter if it's rechargeable or not.
