I recorded an MPEG video from my digicam. It's 400MB. I'd like to compress it to 100MB. Is there a recommended format or program for this task? I can't start trying everything right now.

TIA

BTW, I was trying to upload to youtube. Maybe there is a different host that accepts larger vids?

Try Windows moviemaker if you have XP and don't mind to convert it to wmv. ;)

Ditto, import your MPEG into movie maker and then "save to computer", it'll suggest using wmv, or the one to playback on your computer. If you look inthe laser section, you'll see a thread by me with three links to google video. They all started at around 800 megs and I got them all under 50 megs before I uploaded them. :twothumbs

You can download and use windows media encoder for a bit more advanced options. There are some good compression codecs out there now.
