New E1L arrived today. Meh.

Well it finally arrived today and man does it have a blueish/purplish tint to it. Blech. Especially throught that optic. But I successfully put a McR20 reflector in it and its not so bad now. One thing I did notice though, is that the emitter seemed to be mounted differently. I can't explain it really, but it seems like it would be easier to swap. So thats' good news. I'll keep my eye out for a nice X0 emitter, maybe if a new, better, whiter K2 shows up, I'll throw that in there. Running it on a batterystation 3.6v 900mah RCR123a kicks it into 2 cell mode so its a little brighter and helps with the whiteness just a smidge.

If anyone reading this has had doubts about doing the McR20 reflector mod on their KL1, do it. Seriously. HUGE improvement in the beam. That is all.

Hmmm, how much do you charge for such surgery? My little E1L is crying out for a reflector...

Its not hard. However, I shy away from doing other peoples' lights. I'm too concerned I'll mess it up.

Did you get the head apart without damage? What's your technique?
