Liquid electric tape.

So I was replacing the led out of one of the LE's and the solder points had a purple coating on them. Was this some sort of liquid electric tape. If so is this the same liquid tape that can be bought at say home depot.

I don't know what that purple coating is, but I've used nail polish to isolate contacts before. Pink nail polish is what hardcore modders use, BTW.

Back when I worked in a radio shop (General Aviation Electronics or GENAVE) we used pink or red nail polish to mark the pots and caps as a tamper ID. Amazing how many people will tweak a broken radio that has "not been touched". :p

We used an odd garish hue that most customer's wives wouldn't have.That way they couldn't cover their tracks.
