Little help with P1D-CE

Just received one of these but have a question. Searched a bit without joy but my apologies if it's been answered before.

The light works fine on primary 123 but when I try to use any of my RCR123 the three levels seem to all be the same. It will do this until the battery is drained somewhat. After that it everything is fine. Is this normal behavior? Gracias.

That's normal with a fresh R123. When the voltage of the battery drops some, you'll be able to tell a difference in the levels.

Yes, this is normal, and it has been discussed. You can see it very graphically in the run time plots here.

Thanks guys. Yes, I see after the battery drops it seems to adjust but all the levels are still brighter than with a primary 123, especially the low level. But right off the charger all the levels seem the same. I'll review the posts pointed too. I need to clean up the contacts too because I have to tighten it down more than I thought to get full brightness on each level.

At the voltage with a fresh charged RCR it's running in direct drive so it bypasses the lower level settings I believe.
