Hi - iv bought 2 lux stars TYAJ (for a bike light project)

every thing i say from know on is reffering to 1 star on its own....

J = 3.2v - 3.5v (i think)

does this mean if i put more than 3.5v into it it will blow?

im not sure i understand all this current, voltage stuff

eg) there meant to run at 1a max but how do i achive or know this if i direct drive them? - do they not just take what they need? or does an increase in voltage increase the current

anyway im lost.... if i put 3 nimh AAs into my star will it ruin it???

thanks in advance

Its a long road... but you have to start somewhere

Vf= normal working voltage, not blow voltage...

To put it simply, LEDs will take as much current as they can get till they blow...if you go over 4v it will go into thermal run away & blow...

Best to use a driver as 'direct drive' is problmatic... but ok for a starting point...

3AA's should be ok... due to internal battery resistance...good idea to always test the current inseries with a multymeter

Best
