Re: Tri-XRE MCR19

Very nice!

What is the max you are driving the LEDs? Runtime? Lumens? Cost?
Another beautiful torch!

As stated in my post :) In burst mode the LEDS are driven at 1amp. As for lumens the P3's are rated for around 80 lumens at 350ma, take that to 1.6x at 750ma = 128 lumens each x 3 = 384 lumens before optical losses. At 1amp I would say over 400 lumens.

Runtime

3x17670 = 4800mah

If you run the Leds at spec at approx 350ma each that would be around 5 hours. At 750mah around 3 hours.

I thought I posted this in the Mod light section....my bad I will add a price now.

Re: Tri XR-E Mcr19

On another note this was a major PITA trying to fit the super deep Mcr19's into the Mag Head. I had to take .200 of the bottom of the head just to fit them :)

A few months back I asked Mac to build me a Tri-Lux and he agve me 2 choices: 3 or 5 watters. Lucky me I chose the 5 watter because the new MaxFlex boards have a hardware bug that needs to be addressed. Meanwhile the Cree XR-E is getting hotter and hotter, then out of nowhere Mac asked me if I want the 7x P3 Cree-XR-E's with MCR17XR reflectors? He said," It is WITHOUT DOUBT the brightest mag multi LED light ever created :)". I was frozen for a second before sending him the answer YES. :rock: :rock:

The Cree's do not have a good beam with smooth reflectors. With smooth reflectors there is a darker ring that surrounds the hotspot.

I have the Tri-Cree from here
I've only noticed the O rings when the light is close to a wall. It's imperceptible when viewing normally.

I really appreciate this light since before it I had to carry around three XR-E A19s taped together. Much easier to hold. :sssh:

Thanks again Mac!
