well, Its versataility tops over the MagLED class..

Pros:
1=standard PR size, can fit into any light that uses PR based bulbs, MagLEDs diameter are not compatible with other PR lights, its made for Maglites only.
2=I watt LED with both types: side editting or lambertian, MagLED uses 3 watt luxeon dies and therefore are lambertian based, and since in efficiencies in heatsink applies greater to 3 watts, the output of "3 watts" diminishes at the first few minutes of running.:naughty::ohgeez:

3=Capability of retrofitting 6V lanterns [everLED Diamond edition]

Cons:
1=Much more expensive than magLED [over twice the cost]
2=Dimmer than MagLED being a 1 watt [so no "wow" effect on initial startup]
3=Has to be bought online, while magLEDs can be bought nowadays in all general stores :(

Heres the generalized comparison, Personally, I use the side emitting [or everLED "classic"] in an 2D eveready torch [used to be in a 6D], compared to my MagLED in a Mag3D its quite dim, however a standalone trial I found the light to be quite useful, without too much imperfections or artifacts in the beam...usually the price cost is a head turner to most ppl, but I like it...[and I bought it used for ~20ish ^_^]
