You mean the little bubble in the LuxV? There has been a thread from NewBie about this and others chimed in that it has always been there.

OK OK look at the color of the internal reflector....See it it has turned golden in color.
I read in a posting somewhere by NEWBIE and it mentioned outgassing causing the internal reflector to shift in color an possibly the dome I can't take a picture of the dome which will show it from the side because this emitter is mounted inside a McLuxIII PD.
If you want a higher resolution version of the image for your desk top e-mail me and I will send it to you.

yaesu .. there was a similar thread turning luxeon silver reflectors to gold, some said it was due to action of silicone gel on silver.
IIRC i think evan9612 and chimo posted some pictures.

Could you please post a link to the thread? The one therory I have heard is that it is due to outgassing from o-rings or Lube.
One wonders.
Maybe it is the super rare golden Lux!!!!
