Overhead projector lamp

I was going to use an MR16 halogen to build my first bicycle light (helmet mounted). However, what about using one of those overhead projector bulbs that put out like 75-80 watts? Can they be run on a low voltage such as 14 or 18? I suppose if they can my major problem would be low run time unless I found some really high amp battery

I don't know the voltage rating of the bulbs, but I think that it was 12v at one time. It's likely stamped on the bulb.

The drawbacks I can see are:
1. runtime, that a big bulb
2. cost, expect to pay a premium for a 'projector' bulb
3. heat, such a high watt bulb will create some unmanageable heat issues. expect it to melt plastic parts and cause metal ones to reach scalding temps
