    Default PC dignostic tools?

    As most if you guys know my main computers where smoke and water damaged, I was wondering if there is any software tools to find out if i am having memmory errors or misc hardware related instablilty, When I first started with both systems they did not even post, so i am atlest lucky to have some what of a working system
    Humans? Monkeys?
    Is there a difference?

    memtest86 (google it). (makes a bootable floppy to run the test)
    dtemp (can read harddrive SMART errors). (no install just run)

    there's something else that stress tests CPU, but I cant think of it.

    prime95 to stress test the CPU

    Definitely run Memtest86. It WILL find memory/northbridge instabilities if you have them.

    After last nights teardown and cleaning I ran Memtest86 77 times and it all passed, so for the time being i have atlest a stable system till I bump it, thanks for the help
