1000 Watt Charger

I was not sure where to post this, but Northern Tool has a 1000 Watt Generator on sale for $ 99.99. Seems like a very good price, and be great for camping. It will charge a 12 volt car battery, so this catagory is close.

This one looks a whole lot like the Chinese generators we've been flooded with here lately - they sell from around A$79.95 up. The 12V output is unregulated, and can fry a battery pretty quickly if you're not careful! (Or not, depending on the gennie...)

General consensus is that if you get a good one, they're not too bad, but don't let your life depend on it. The stores here have a no questions asked exchange or refund policy on these things, as it seems that about 1 out of 4 are duds. I noticed that this outlet specifies "Generator sales are final", I guess that means no returns?
