that pic overemphasizes it, but mine is clearly two tones.

It would be nice if they could anodize heads and tails together in the same plating bath so they match better.

Photographs tend to amplify differences in shades and surface finish.

I just looked at mine and thought it was a perfect match but I can see a very slight difference between the head and tail - I would have never noticed if I hadn't seen this thread. I'm guessing the pic above may be exagerating the difference due to lighting used in the pic. It doesn't bother me a bit on mine and I'm fairly picky.

Even if they did, unless the parts come from the same stock material, the anodizing shade might look different.

Just like with SF, anodizing tints are purely cosmetic; I stopped paying attention to that a long time ago. YMMV, of course.
