Got it today!

Now I can use it to fix the film (in day light I'll go under a few blankets)when it skipped the teeth inside my old camera without fear of ruining the exposed ones.

Still can't figure out why Mac put the glow base there when red light won't activate it.:huh2:

Now I really have RED-RED light.
Thanks mac,
Tanasit

Would you rather look at wires and solder joints or a nice smooth glow power surface :)

tanasit: will it be okay on the film even though it's not straight red, i.e. red/orange?

btw I would love to see beamshots on this!

Wow, thanks for the pics tanasit! (and the pm as well).

Didn't realize a Kiu bezel would look that pretty in the beam =)

The output is amazing. The high and low make this much more usable for night-time use, I would imagine! Have you tried using the light on high, outdoor, w/ dark-adapted eyes?

It's too cold for outdoor now!

Anyway the FLuPIC V2.1 firmware has so many options and settings that I haven't yet master. For now I set the low at lowest, high at medium and highest at max.
Indoor walking around revealed strange color objects that I'd been used to. Also for the led from various equipment: green and blue stay the same but red led just disappears.
The film thing, I was just joking since I switched to digital many years ago. I used to have a darkroom and stayed inside for 2 days thinking that it was just overnight!
I just want a real RED-RED Maglite. I am making a matching red Kiu bezel and will post a pic soon.

Flupic sounds really cool. Don't have any lights with one, but would like to one day mod one in to my CR2 keychain light perhaps.

Using colored led's is indeed neat. I have a R/O in a CR2 light, it's pretty stinking bright too, actually. But I'm sure doesn't throw nearly as far as your Mag, nor gets near your max output.

Haha re: darkroom. Is photography your profession? I have a dslr as well, shoot amateur for events and friends' weddings sometimes.

Re: 192 Lumen Red/Orange MagLite pic added

No, I am not a photographer but like you, love taking pictures and did a few weddings. Back in the 40's, when they took only B/W my dad came in third in the world for Time magazine photo contest and that started the fire!

Here is the matching Kiu bezel on it.
