I have a minimag LED that I want to cutdown and run with one 14500 cell. Will this work or is the voltage too high?

I have tried 2 14500 cells and the light would not turn on. Try a dummy cell and a 14500 and that would probably answer your question. The minimag LED must have some overvoltage protection and yes the light did work fine after trying the 2 14500 cells.
