I was comparing a E1E and E1 at my local SF dealer shop. The description on the E1 packaging is "lock out tailcap, momentary on, constant on"

Can someone please advice, does Surefire E1 has a twistie tailcap or clicky tailcaps ?

Thanks for the reply.

Does the SF E series ever come with a twistie tailcap ?
Which model?

its clicky but you twist it out to lock it out
That is incorrect. The Surefire E1 came with a twisty tailcap (the z52 IIRC), as did many of the E1e's.

It's hard to say for sure which E-series lights comes with twisty vs. tailcaps clickies as many have had both at different times in the past, but currently both the E1e and E2e come with the z57 clickie.

Originally the E1 and E2 came with non-LockOut push button pressure switch TailCaps.
Then SureFire released the Elite E1e and E2e version that have always had LockOut TailCaps. In the recent past SureFire have phased in the Clickie style switch (which can be Locked Out as well).

Some E1 and E2 may well have been supplied with LockOut TailCaps as inventory of E1/E2 part was used up.
