Sold:

Mag 3-in-1 (Mag85,Mag447,Mag458)

This light is a variation on the Mag*** theme. It can be set up in 3 configurations; Mag85 using 9 of the included 1/2Ds in a 6D body, MagIRC/Mag447 using 15 of the 1/2Ds and the 3D extension. Also, a Mag458 using 15,16, or 17 1/2Ds and the additional extensions. We're all familiar with the Mag85 and Mag mod using the IRC bulb. The Osram 64458 bulb is one I came across that loves to be overdriven. I've run it direct on 15, 16, and 17 1/2D cells. On 17 rested cells it's holding >20.2 volts at the pins. AWRs hotrater works out to be more than 200 watts.

Mag85 Configuration 9 cells = 1,300 bulb lumens
Mag447 (IRC) on 15 cells = 5,800 bulb lumens
Mag458 on 15 cells = 7,400 bulb lumens
Mag458 on 17 cells = 11,000 bulb lumens

Included components:

6D Mag Black
3D+2 1D extensions
1x Osram 64458 90W HLX Bi-pin bulb
2x Osram 64447 65W IRC Bi-pin bulbs
Camless MOP reflector
Boro-float lens
Chrome Mag bezel
KIU socket on fully modded Mag switch.
Ceramic refractory insulation (plus spare insulation)
Long and Stubby tail springs with fix
Anodizing removed from tailcap
17 x 1/2D 4000mAh NiMH batteries
PVC charging tube (Holds 15 or 16 cells only)

Not Included:
Charger
1185 Bulbs

The price is about what I have into this light. The cells alone cost more than $100. Shipping will be via DHL ground or methid requested by buyer. I'm not sure what shipping will cost because of the odd size. After purchase I'll PM the buyer with the actual shipping costs. I'll cap shipping at $15 in CONUS (unless the buyer wants it FedEx Yesterday delivery. :) )

Mag85 = 1,300 bulb Lumens (holds 11 volts nicely)
MagIRC on 15 cells = 5,800 bulb Lumens
Mag458 on 15 cells = 7,400 bulb Lumens
Mag458 on 17 cells = 11,000 bulb Lumens

Above results using AWR's hotrater and voltages measured at the pins.

Wow, this looks amazing, if my finances were better I'd be seriously tempted. 17 1/2D's means the light is around 2.5 feet long?! Wow!

That's about right. But only in it's longest, most powerfull config. In Mag85 dress, it's only a 6D.

:bumpit: For yet another price drop.

C'mon now. The parts alone cost more than this.

I don't really know. It will run long enough to get too hot then cool down a few times.
Mag85 would be over an hour.

MagIRC draws <8 amps. Guess 20-25 minutes. With Refractory insulation, it runs 6-8 minutes and gets really hot.

Mag458 draws 10 amps. Guess 15-18 minutes. This is getting super hot at about 5 minutes.
In 458 configuration, it is SILLY bright. If you think the Torch or USL starts fires quickly, this thing is astounding.

Boston's a good place to be for St Patty's day. I think $260 is about as low as I think I'll go. So it might just be around in March.
